Yes, its been a long time since i wrote a post, while i want to apologies for the long gap which was due to me being busy with personal priorities of life at the same time i also want to thank our community/family for reading our site (which still has morethan 60K+ visits per month from all over world, even though i haven't written for a longtime) and being referred by people from Microsoft, Azure, windows and other official sources when in doubts even in 2024. Recently,
few of my friends reached out asking for some sources where we can free download UPSC civil services books to prepare for UPSC 2025 civil services. While i shared the best resources i can find through telegram, google drives and other sources. I also felt lot of people from other parts of INDIA from poor background, struggling to pay for their everyday family commitments will find it tough to find the exact sources to read or download those books for free as they were mostly high priced, As by default internet search giants censor the search results when it comes to free download sources as much as possible! While i understand making those resources/books is time consuming and an author will spend most of his/her time to release it as a book or lecture, being a human, i always believe knowledge should be always free. So, in the coming days and if time permits, then i will start sharing those important resources in the form of post. You as a family member of our site if preparing for the exam can just skim through those resources to make the best out of it. Alright, for those who dont' know about the UPSC, a short intro.
UPSC also known as Union Public Service Commission is one of INDIA's prestigious exam board which conducts various examinations like Geo scientist, forest services, Civil services and what not? almost all exams which are high profile in the society of INDIA. Its a fun as well as true fact that people attending civil services will feel even learning 200% of things will not be enough (if not targeted properly) and almost 99% of people attending the exam always feel bit stress due to never ending learning, lack of concentration (in this digital age were your social media plays a key role) as well as fear of exam . If you are one who is getting ready to crack the role, then knowing the dates of UPSC Civil services examination is the crucial part of your preparation. So, in this post lets see the official calendar for various examinations and last date to apply for those examinations.
First civil services:
2025 UPSC Civil Services preliminary Examination and IFS (Indian Forest Service (Preliminary)) will be held on 25.05.2025(Sunday). You will be notified of applications from 22.01.2025 and you can submit your application till 11.02.2025.
And if you pass the exam (You will, if you think you can!) your mains will be 22.08.2025(Friday) which is a five day exam.
If you had attended the exam in the past, there will be two type of papers. And here is the UPSC syllabus as of 2024 and 2023. I assume this will be the same for 2025 too as it wasnt revised much in previous years. This is from official notification.
Paper I - (200 marks) Duration: Two hours
· Current events of
national and international importance.
·
History of India and Indian National Movement.
·
Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and
the World.
·
Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj,
Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc. ·
Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion,
Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
·
General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change -
that do not require subject specialization. ·
General Science.
Paper II-(200 marks) Duration : Two hours ·
Comprehension;
·
Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
·
Logical reasoning and analytical ability;
·
Decision making and problem solving;
·
General mental ability;
· Basic numeracy (numbers
and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data
interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. — Class X level)
Note 1 : Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary)
Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at
33%.
Note 2 : The questions will be of multiple choice, objective
type.
Note 3 : It is mandatory for the candidate to appear in both
the Papers of Civil Services (Prelim) Examination for the purpose of
evaluation. Therefore a candidate will be disqualified in case he/she does not
appear in both the papers of Civil Services (Prelim) Examination.
