A security researcher named anurag sen, has found nearly 49 Million Instagram users data stored on non password protected AWS Servers.
This data includes profile pic, bio, followers, phone numbers and honorable user's location too. This data was traced back to chtrbox an advertising based company. This company seems to be have paid instagram influencers to run ad campaigns on their accounts, the tech crunch reported.
Soon after the news reached the facebook team, the database seems to be pulled offline and Facebook issued a statement that its already investigating the matter..
"We're looking into the issue to understand if the data described - including email and phone numbers - was from Instagram or from other sources.
We're also inquiring with Chtrbox to understand where this data came from and how it became publicly available," Instagram quoted to US Media Channels.
Wanna know, whether your data was also exposed? even though it was not that much to find out, all i can say is, if you ran advertising marketing campaign, your account might have been exposed.
