Who loves updates ? that installs automatically particularly during shutdown or when our PC's is
running low on battery, or when we no longer need it?
In Windows, there is an option that allows us to install update before shutting down our PC.
Probably you may had seen this option, " Update and Shutdown" in the start menu or while pressing
Alt and F4 keys to shutdown or restart or to put your pc to sleep.
When you choose this option, then your PC will automatically begins to sign you out,
and will continue its job of installing updates.
Here, is an method that will prevent your windows 10 PC to install updates before shutting down.
I had found this tweak in the Windows 10 Creators update build, and i think it will work on previous
builds too.
So, how to do it ?
It is an registry tweak, so consider backing up your registry, if you are new to registry area.
And follow the steps below.

1) Press Windows (logo) and R Keys, Simultaneously, it will display RUN Command.
2) Type regedit and Hit enter.
3) Navigate to the following location(key)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate
4) Expand WindowsUpdate setting and then also expand AutoUpdate.
5) When you expanded you can see Power folder(key) appearing on the list.
6) Select it.
7) Now, on your right pane, you can see various Dwords and Strings like (Default), ContinueInstallAtShutdown-Final, Firmware-Final,etc..
8) Double click or single click the ContinueIstallAtShutdown Dword.
9) Now you can see some value on the value data field like 'a'.
Simply, delete the value and type 0 in that value data box and Hit Enter.
That's it...
It will prevent your system from installing Windows updates during shutdown✌✌.
Tested working on Windows 10 Creators update build.
