Storage sense in Windows 10 - Turn on or turn off storage sense in Windows 10 Creators update [How to guide]

Windows 10 creators update have an redesigned option that will make it automatically clear 

unwanted cookies, caches, temporary files,etc... This option was named as storage sense. 

This storage sense will automatically sense for un necessary files and will clear them when 

our PC reaches some critical storage space.

Since, it is such an awesome features for low disk space users, there are some restrictions 

for them. They need to turn on storage sense technology manually in some editions.

So, here in this post let's see how to turn on or turn off storage sense in Windows 10.

Note : Following instructions will Works only on Windows 10 Creators update build 

Operating System as some options are changed in this build.

1) Open settings.

2) Click on System.

3) When you clicked, it will open some options like Display, Notifications & Actions,etc on 

your left pane...

4) find and click an option called Storage on the left pane.

5) When you clicked, you can see your PC drives on the right pane, scroll down till you find Storage sense option.

6) Under the storage sense, there will be text like 

Windows can automatically free up space by getting rid of files you don't need like 

temporary files and content in your recycle bin.

Under the above text, there will be an option to toggle between on or off.

7) Simply slide/ tap on the right side of the option, so that it looks ON.

8) Close the window.

However, if you like to

Disable Storage sense in Windows 10


9) Simply slide/ tap on the left side of the option, so that it looks OFF.

10) Close the window.

Windows 10 Creators update, scheduled for April release has got some additional changes 

happening right now and then, Microsoft is releasing new features to insiders every week in 

the name of windows 10 insider preview builds, recently it released windows 10 insider 

preview 15042 for PC users, this build has not got many features added unlike previous 

insider builds, they had only fixed some bugs.  

I had upgraded my PC to windows 10 insider preview 15042, but after some time, My PC 

got some bugs so i went to reinstall windows 10 insider preview 15042 again . I booted the 

ISO and installed Windows 10 creators update preview build 15042 successfully on my PC. 

But after installation i was shocked to see unwanted store apps again even though i hadn't 

logged in using Microsoft Account.

The apps installed on My PC were found to be Adobe Photoshop Express, Code Writer, 

Pandora and sway. 

There were some other apps, that were on the line to get installed on my PC consuming my 

bandwidth badly 😢😢.

I think this build with other existing bugs fixed will be released to Windows 10 users as 

windows 10 creators update, because Microsoft had finished adding  and tinkering features. 

There is also a high chance, because this insider preview build 15042 doesn't have 

expiration date set, which is quite uncommon.

Whatever it may, it would be better, if Microsoft stops installing such unwanted apps to 

users at least in Windows 10 Creators update because, we paid to own our PC ourselves, 

not you Microsoft...! (in the form of unwanted apps )

ESRV_SVC_QUEENCREEK cannot be found in Windows 10 [Solved]

The description for Event ID 2 from source ESRV_SVC_QUEENCREEK cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event: Error [5]: [Unable To Open Device.][0x0].

The above is the error that was retrieved from event viewer in my friend's PC. When we 

checked for system changes, there was nothing much change expect a driver update. As a regular approach we tried running sfc and chkdsk and also system restore everything failed. 


We are helpless, as we can't find the error even online. So we decided to check for every possible changes, before trying to re install windows 10. As we checked, there was a driver update from INTEL and its for energy saver or something related to it, we really don't know what it was..

So, we tried to roll back that driver, but it failed. ESRV_SVC_QUEENCREEK cannot be 
found error still resides.

At that time, we don't know how to fix it, but a crazy idea of us, solved our problem.

What we did ??

We just stopped the ESRV_SVC_QUEENCREEK service after that our PC worked fine..

How to do on our PC?

Just follow the below steps..

1) Press Windows + R Keys of your keyboard, 

2) Type services.msc

3) Hit enter.

4) Now, scroll down and right click on the ESRV_SVC_QUEENCREEK service and select properties.

5) Click on Stop.



6) On the startup type, select Disabled.

7) Click on Apply -> OK.

8) Restart your PC.

(Or) 

9) Open powershell as administrator

10) Type the following command and hit enter.

stop-service ESRV_SVC_QUEENCREEK

Get-WmiObject Win32_Service -filter "name='ESRV_SVC_QUEENCREEK'".Delete()

Alternative command, you can try for step 10,

sc.exe delete "ESRV_SVC_QUEENCREEK"

Now, restart your PC, you will see it fixed.

Windows 10 System Restore failed with error code 0x80070091 [Solution]

Microsoft is trying to fix windows 10 since long time, even though most of them are fixed 

and are served through windows insider preview builds  , Some fixes are causing side 

effects on user's PC. 

One of the issue that i faced today on my friend's PC is, his system restore failed. We are in 

a situation of reinstalling windows 10. But we thought of trying system restore using system 

restore point created a long ago. Luckily, there was a restore point that was created a 

month ago. We tried to restore using that point, it went good, but after some time a popup 

box appeared in front of us stating "System restore did not complete successfully, Your 

system files and settings are not changed" claiming that the error happened at 

%ProgramFiles%\WindowsApps, an unspecified error occurred during System restore . (0x80070091) 

We fixed the error using a simple method, so i like to share the steps here, if you had faced 

with such an error, then i hope my crazy fix may work for you too.

Understanding the problem....

I thought there  may be a possible corrupt in that windows apps directory. so i thought of 

renaming the folder which may make windows believe that there is no such folder, so that it 

can re create it or skip that part.

OK, here is How i fixed...

How to fix Windows 10 System Restore failed with error code 0x80070091

1) You may be prompted to choose a system restore point in your PC right ?? ( System 

restore , system image recovery,etc on advanced options), so simply 

click on browse. and navigate to C:\ProgramFiles folder.

2) Make sure your hidden items box is checked, because WindowsApps folder is hidden by 

default.

3) Click on the item and Press F2 Key on your Keyboard...

4) Rename the folder to any name, for example : like windowsexploredforu

5) Press Enter key, so that it saves the file name..

6) Restart your PC and 

 try your system restore again, it will work now..

This may sound crazy but its the solution that worked for me..

Windows 10 insider preview 15042 was released for insiders on fast ring, it has lot of bugs 

fixed and a major installation hang bug as said in our previous post . Since it has download 

progress indicator bar fixed, we can say it will show the amount of download that was 

completed like 50 to 90% completed.  But there are some users saying, that they are 

experiencing download problems, so it would be better if they get a chance of downloading 

windows 10 insider preview 15042 if available.

Unfortunately, since it was released for windows insider on fast ring, there is no official 

windows 10 insider preview 15042 ISO files available on Official sites. However, since 

internet is such a huge thing, i searched for ISO files, and got some download links from 

fellow users ,

Thanks to twitter user rgadguard for uploading ISO files.....

Just follow the steps below to download...

1) First, visit the below link..

2) There will be a lot of files there, download your version ISO file.

for example : 

en-ru_windows_10_rs2_15042.0_aio_14in1_x64_v17.02.24_by_adguard.iso

represents 64 bit version of Windows insider preview 15042.

3) Install it like a regular ISO and enjoy..

Windows 10 insider build 15042 for PC was released today to many insiders on fast ring

netsh int ipv6 set locality state=disabled

reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Nsi\{eb004a01-9b1a-11d4-9123-0050047759bc}\28 /f

5) Restart your PC

and try again, it work for you now..

App tiles disappeared from windows 10 start menu [Solution]

App tiles are the ones that help most of the person to stay updated with the help of live 

tiles. But unfortunately windows 10 have some strange problem that made app tiles 

disappeared from my windows 10 PC. I don't know what caused the problem, but i had 

reset the app tiles of my pc by running some commands on my PC with the help of 

Powershell. If you too are facing with such an problem, then i hope this solution might work

for you too...

1) Open powershell as administrator

2) Type the following

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}  

3) Hit enter..

4) Restart your pc

Check whether the problem is resolved, if not...

5) Again, open cmd,

6) type the following commands and hit enter..

DISM.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Sfc /scannow

The above solution will fix your problem, if it failed, then you need to create a new user account for

your windows 10 PC.

That's the only way you can fix the issue without resetting.
