I had seen this issue on my PC when i searched for a particular file using cortana search i can't find
it.But the file actually resides on my PC. i searched for lot of Options and finally found Cortana
won't show up our files unless we list it..if your Cortana doesn't show files like happened to me,then
here in this post i had shown how i had solved this. I hope this might help You..
What i did..
I changed some options on Control Panel
What are the options i changed and how to do??
Just follow the below steps..
1) Open control Panel
[See : How to open Control Panel]
2) On,the top right hand side,there will be search box,type "Index" on that box
3) Select the Indexing Options
4) It will open list of drives on your PC.
5) Click on Modify
It will Open a new window, with options like Change Selected locations and below that there will be some drives on your PC.find and Click on the Show All locations Option.
6) If UAC Prompts select Yes.
7) It will display all the drives including removal and external drives now,check the boxes you wish to include on your Search results.
8) Click OK to finish.
9) Now,again visit the Window you see on Step 4 and this time click on Advanced instead of Modify
10) Now,if you wish to index including encrypted files,then check the box "Index encrypted files".
under trouble shooting Options click on Rebuild.
11) Click OK
12) Close the window.
How to exclude search results from Cortana.
13) Follow steps 1,2,3,4,5,6
14) Uncheck the boxes you want exclude the files from Cortana.
15) Follow Remaining Steps 8,9,10,11,12
